Since the 1970s, the development in Spain of the gender studies in various disciplines has demonstrated that knowledge of the past, the policy and any area of society has been built silencing the voice and action of women, who, however, have been active subjects, actors and agents of social and political change.
The research project «Haciendo Historia: Género y Transición en España» (funded by the MICINN), aims to help women to pass on the periphery of the historiographic and political discourse to occupy the Center, together with the men. Retrieve the experiences of the women who lived the Spanish transition allows us to integrate, through the forgotten voices, other perspectives that lead to a better understanding of our immediate past and our current reality.
"Women in transition" is one of the first results of informative and educational nature of the project. Designed in direct collaboration with the file of democracy, MUA, Centre for studies on women and workshop's image of the Fundación General of the University of Alicante, aims to contribute to strengthen a civic and democratic collective memory in which women are not absent.
