This report aims to show the results of clinical trials (CT) in currently used drugs based on women's studies. The authors reviewed the historical background of this issue, CT policies and gender differences and analysis. Finally, they pose as a project the drafting of some recommendations that clinical trials of drugs in Spain should meet from a gender perspective.
Elisa Chilet Rosell and Mª Teresa Ruiz Cantero are members of the research team on Health and Gender, in the area of Preventive Medicine and Public Health at the University of Alicante. This team has been working for five years on CT analysis from a gender perspective and has contributed to a theoretical reflection on this matter.
