Researchers are encouraged to send proposals for papers for the 26st edition of the journal Feminismo/s under the title of Feminisms in Arab societies. We focus on addressing different ideological and social movements advocating gender equality, both from the theoretical and practical realm, in Arab societies. In recent years a boom of feminist thought in the Arab world is observed, with the appearance of both intellectuals and activists. Also, various associations, religious or not religious, are struggling to defend the rights of women in these societies. The definition of feminism in the Arab and Islamic context, secular feminism against Islamic feminism, feminist thought and lived within Arab societies and developed by intellectuals who write from outside of that context, the influence of the phenomena known as "Arab Spring "in the development of feminist thinking and new challenges for gender equality posed by the rise of fundamentalisms are some of the topics proposed to address this issue. Articles will be accepted in Spanish, Catalan, English and French.
