Training: Undergraduate degree and Doctorate in Medicine and Master in Public Health
I am member of the University of Alicante Institute for Gender Studies Research, and of the Biomedical Research Centre in Epidemiology and Public Health Network (CIBERESP). I have been deputy dean of Research, Doctorate and International Relations of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the UA from 2012 to 2015.
Lecturer of Medicine from 1984 to 1997, I have initiated the Public Health course in the UA undergraduate degrees, like Social Work, Optics, Nursing and Education, with subjects/courses like Woman Health with a gender perspective, taken by students from different disciplines (Economics, Geography, IT, Philosophy,…).
I have supervised 8 PhD theses for undergraduate students in Medicine, Obstetrics, Nutrition, Philosophy, Optics-Documentation and Biology. 5 PhD theses have been awarded the special award and 3 the European/international mention.
I have conducted 11 competitive projects (teaching innovation: 2), and have participated in 25 (3 Europeans and 2 Contracts with the Ministry of Health) from which many national and international articles have come. Six-year research activity periods: 4.
